A 1417 CE stone inscription that records the excavation of a public stepwell, recognized as the earliest known Telugu epigraph containing the word 'Telangana' (Telunganaapura).
History & Story
Engraved in classical medieval Telugu script in Shaka 1340 (1417 CE) during the reign of Sultan Feroz Shah Bahmani, this stone slab records the construction of a stepwell (dharma-vapi) by a local artisan named Nagojula in the village of Telunganaapura.
