An 800–1200 year old Rashtrakuta / Western Chalukyan carved Jain pillared mandapam surviving in the heart of old Patancheru.

History & Story

In medieval history, Patancheru was known as 'Pottalakere', a prominent political and religious capital under the Western Chalukyas and Rashtrakutas. It was a thriving center of Jainism with royal patronage. This surviving open mandapa in Qureshi Mohalla features finely chiselled stone pillars with lotus medallions and Tirthankara relief icons.
