Sardar Mahal
A European-plan palace the sixth Nizam had built for a wife, Sardari Begum. Long used as municipal offices and now largely disused.
History & Story
Sardar Mahal was built by the sixth Nizam for one of his wives, Sardari Begum, in the European domestic style favoured by the Hyderabadi aristocracy at the turn of the 20th century, columned portico, formal garden axes, and large reception rooms. After independence it was transferred to the municipal corporation and converted to offices; much of the interior has been subdivided and the decorative detail obscured or lost.
