14th-century Kakatiya warrior memorial stones (Veeragallulu) depicting heroic battles, celestial ascent, and divine worship in Kailasa.

History & Story

These three-panel sculpted granite stones commemorate Deccan warriors who defended their settlements against northern sultanate invasions. The bottom panel depicts armed combat; the middle panel shows celestial apsaras carrying the warrior to the heavens; the top panel portrays the warrior worshipping the Shiva linga.
