A European medieval Gothic castle perched atop a hillock in Malakpet, built in 1885 by Prime Minister Sir Asman Jah.
History & Story
Sir Asman Jah, Paigah nobleman and Prime Minister of Hyderabad, was enchanted by medieval European castles during his travels. In 1885, he designed and erected this hilltop fortress named 'Asmangadh' ('Sky-High Castle') complete with stone battlements, gothic pointed arches, and turrets offering commanding views over Hyderabad.
