Asman Garh Palace
A castellated hilltop folly built by Sir Asman Jah, a Paigah noble and prime minister, overlooking the eastern approaches to the city.
History & Story
Sir Asman Jah, a Paigah noble who served as Prime Minister of Hyderabad, built this castellated hilltop retreat east of the city as a country house with panoramic views over the eastern plains. The battlemented towers and mock-Gothic details gave it a distinctly English romantic flavour unusual for Hyderabad's domestic architecture. After independence the estate was fragmented; the palace is now largely abandoned and inaccessible.
