A 120-foot tower on the old parade ground of the Secunderabad cantonment, funded by public subscription and long the landmark of the twin city.

History & Story

Funded by public subscription from the Secunderabad cantonment community to mark Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, the 120-foot clock tower stood at the entrance to the formal military boulevard that once defined the cantonment's civic identity. Its bells were audible across the parade ground. After independence the cantonment was absorbed into the Indian Army and the surrounding character changed; the tower remains as the most visible reminder of Secunderabad's origin as a British military station.
